Register an AED

Home / Register an AED

Every year in Ireland thousands of people suffer a cardiac arrest. When someone collapses and stops breathing normally, the clock starts ticking. Early CPR and defibrillation with an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) can double their chances of survival. Knowing where the nearest AED is located can make all the difference when every second counts.

There are an estimated 9,000 AEDs across Ireland. Unfortunately, many AEDs are never used because emergency services don’t know where they are or how to access them. The National AED Network (formerly the AED Registry Campaign) provides the National Ambulance Service with vital information about AEDs across Ireland. Once the AED information is on the network, emergency services can direct bystanders to their nearest AED and increase a person’s chance of survival.

This is why we urgently need you to notify the Ambulance Service about your defibrillator today. Knowing an AED’s location can be the difference between life and death.

Register your defibrillators online now by filling in the NAS Online form.
